Meet the awardees.

Given annually as part of the ACC’s Awards of Excellence at the American Craft Made Baltimore marketplace, the Asé Design Award for Excellence in Wood is presented by Darryl Patterson; Baltimore-based artist, designer, and ACC Trustee, and Lawrence Moore, co-founders of Asé Design Studio. Patterson and Moore are both long-time designers and woodworkers and this award is given in honor of their commitment to community empowerment and meaningful engagement.

Selected artists receive a cash prize, guaranteed entry into the next Baltimore marketplace, and a complimentary one-year membership to ACC.

    Michael and Amanda Jury operate M. Jury Woodworks, an heirloom furniture studio, in Springfield, Virginia. They design and build hardwood furniture and decorative woodwork inspired by Shaker, Japanese and Danish designs. Their work is elegant in its graceful proportions, heirloom construction and subtle ornamentation.
