Randall Darwall Fiber Grant
The Randall Darwall Fiber Grant was created to honor the legacy and memory of weaver and former ACC show artist Randall Darwall by providing financial support and encouragement for emerging fiber artists to exhibit their work.
For more than 30 years, Randall Darwall (1948–2017) and his life partner Brian Murphy spent countless hours doing craft shows, and they loved seeing the exciting work and fresh ideas that came from new artists. Craft in America called beloved ACC show Artist Randall Darwall “one of contemporary craft’s finest weavers,” noting that for him, “dyeing and weaving was a way to set up a conversation between colors; when the cloth is worn, it becomes kinetic sculpture.”
Selected artists receive a complimentary booth at the ACC’s American Craft Made Baltimore marketplace and a financial stipend to assist with show expenses.
Meet the awardees.
