Zac Spates’ functional work evokes tactile memories of the crags and smooth planes of mountain climbing and is brought to life in wood-fire kilns on his property. David Swenson’s talent with the brush is as frenzied, yet purposeful, as the multitude of ways he creates his thrown, slip-cast, handbuilt, and press-molded pottery.
