Interwoven: Creating Community by Supporting Artistic Innovation in Textile Arts and Fashion

This inaugural symposium of the Avenir Institute of Textile Arts and Fashion features directors and curators from leading textile arts and fashion organizations who share a common thread of being community-driven innovators. This event will be held in person at the Sharp Auditorium in the Hamilton Building. For those who can’t attend in person, it will also be livestreamed online. Speakers include Michelle Baggerman, educator and curator at TextielMuseum | TextielLab, Tilburg, the Netherlands; Raja Ghanta, Vice President of Special Projects, Chanakya International; Gyöngy Laky, sculptor, founder of Fiberworks Center for the Textile Arts; Kaat Debo, director of MoMu, Fashion Museum Antwerp, Belgium; Steven Frost, artist and assistant professor of media studies at University of Colorado Boulder, and Associate Director of the Unstable Design Lab; and Jordana Munk Martin, founder and executive director, Tatter.
