Chris Amundsen is the former Executive Director of the American Craft Council, charged with leading the 70-year-old organization in its new reincarnation in the Twin Cities. Chris has built a distinguished 30-year career in the for-profit and nonprofit sectors. Prior to joining the American Craft Council, Chris was Chief Operating Officer of the Greater Twin Cities United Way. He also served as United Way of America's Interim President and CEO, leading the nation's largest private sector charitable system with 1,400 local affiliates that raised $3.9 billion to improve the country's communities. Chris is a Minneapolis native and graduate of the University of Minnesota. Though he comes from a public accounting and finance background, Chris feels at home in the arts. He particularly loves meeting with artists and learning more about their process and what inspires them.
