American Craft Wins MMPA’s Magazine of the Year Award

Author
American Craft magazine October/November 2018

It’s awards season in the publishing industry, and American Craft has once again swept up a number of regional and national accolades.

This year, the Minnesota Media and Publishing Association presented the magazine with 17 awards. Most notably, American Craft was honored as Magazine of the Year, a recognition of excellence over time. The publication also swept three categories – winning gold, silver, and bronze awards – for feature design, profile articles, and letters from the editor.

In addition, American Craft received national recognition from the Folio competition, the largest in magazine publishing. Judges were impressed with the cover design of the June/July 2017 issue featuring public artist Risa Puno and awarded it top honors. The magazine’s overall design, Crafted Lives section, and the February/March 2018 issue focusing on career advice were also shortlisted for excellence.

Join us in celebrating these honors by checking out some of this year’s award-winning content, including a profile of piñata artist Just Favela, a tour of maker and TV star Misha Collins’ craft-filled homes, and career advice for makers.
