Ron Ho
Jewelry artist and educator Ron Ho was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, in 1936. He received his BA in art education from the Pacific Lutheran College in Tacoma, Washington, and his MA in art education from the University of Washington in Seattle. While completing his studies, he taught in Hoquiam public schools before ultimately securing a job teaching in the Bellevue school system. During Ho’s summers away from work, he traveled extensively to places such as Afghanistan, Thailand, Nepal, and Vietnam. He often incorporated objects he collected while traveling into his jewelry. Ho taught for 34 years at the Bellevue School District in Seattle, Washington, eventually retiring in 1992. Ron Ho became an American Craft Council Fellow in 2010, and he died in 2017.
