I’ve made sculptural objects for over fifty years, earned a BFA and an MFA in sculpture, worked for artist jewelers in New York, and installed inspiring art in art museums. My background in these areas all came together when I started carving fine natural jade. I design my work and carve it all by hand using a variety of abrasive tools. It takes a lot of hand finishing to achieve the subtle surfaces I prefer. My aim is to bring finely designed and crafted jade objects to today’s audience.
