There are many subtle techniques I use to create a sense of realism. For instance, although I use photographic paper, I do not want the viewer to see the white edges of the cut paper. I black all the white edges so the customer thinks they are looking at the real objects and not a cut up photograph. Since I've always done my own printing, I can create realistic textures to elicit a tactile response by fooling the viewer into thinking I am using, for example, real wood instead of paper.
