Building upon an 80+ year legacy of tradition and innovation, ACC is part of a growing coalition of organizations, makers, and advocates at the forefront of a movement that supports craft-centered livelihoods and ways of living—an American craft renaissance.
How you would help.
The American Craft Council Archives is a robust resource for discovering the history of contemporary American craft. Volunteering to help in our archives is a great way to share and deepen your knowledge about the American craft community.

Physical materials in the ACC archives need to be prepared for long-term preservation. Tasks include removing staples, paperclips, rubber bands and other fasteners; sleeving photographs, slides and other fragile materials; creating folder lists; labeling folders and boxes; assisting with shelf arrangement. May involve some work on a computer.
-
Digital files uploaded in the digital collections platform require description following the descriptive standards established by the archivist. Working with the digital collections requires use of a computer and volunteers must be comfortable with learning software or working within a spreadsheet.

The archivist may plan to table at ACC events with an exhibition or display featuring materials from the archives, or with a sale of publications acquired by ACC. Volunteers may be sought to assist with set up, take down and/or tabling at such events.
