Contemporary Craft is thrilled to announce the 2026 Weave-a-Thon, Torch-a-Thon, Sew-a-Thon, Forge-a-Thon + Turn-a-Thon extravaganza! Under the heading of Craft-a-Thon, we’re bringing our beloved annual Weave-a-Thon model to nearly all of our studios this year.

During this all-day, all-night marathon making event On November 14, weavers, sewists, turners, blacksmiths and metalsmiths from the Contemporary Craft community will be rocking the studios until midnight making work to raise funds for upgrades in each of their respective studios. Each “Thon” participant will spend their studio shift creating handmade objects which will then be available for sale in CC’s Store on November 20, as part of CRAFTED. Part-fundraiser, part-production studio, and part-party, this event reaches across all areas of CC’s operations.

In the Fleischner Family Fibers Loft, Weave-a-Thon participants will weave dish towels as Sew-a-Thon sewists hem the weaver’s towels and make handmade pouches. In the Metals Studios, metalsmiths will create ornaments, while participants in the Blacksmithing Studio will forge steel wall hooks. In the Windgate Wood Studio, turners will make wooden candle holders. Participating makers will work in shifts until midnight to create as much hand-crafted merchandise as possible in one day!
