National Craft Open Studios Weekend, a first-of-its-kind nationwide event took place July 18–19, 2026.

Presented by the nonprofit American Craft Council as part of Craft in America’s Handwork 2026 initiative, this free public event invites you to step inside hundreds of studios across the country, meet makers, explore creative processes, and discover the stories behind handmade work.

What to expect:

  • See where craft happens

    Visitors can explore a wide range of creative spaces, from individual artist studios and community workshops to artist collectives and shared studio buildings, offering a behind-the-scenes look at how craft is made and the people who make it.

  • Discover hundreds of studios

    Explore studios across 36 states (and counting!) in both rural and urban areas, featuring artists who work in an array of mediums—from glass to ceramics, textiles to paper making, and more.

  • Plan with a comprehensive map

    Once registered, you’ll gain access to a comprehensive map of all participating studio locations. Find your next favorite artist in your own backyard or plan a trip to discover something new.
