The Candle Show

Houston Center for Contemporary Craft
Houston, Texas
September 19–October 31, 2026

This fall, as HCCC marks 25 years of illuminating contemporary craft, Asher: Off the Wall proudly presents The Candle Show, exploring the ritual and material poetics of candlelight. This exciting show and sale brings together artists who shape light itself with handcrafted candelabras, holders, and wax-based forms.

On view in our retail space, The Candle Show features work from a curated selection of artists working in clay, glass, and wax, including candles and candelabras by Gabo Martinez, Jessica Ninci, Meryl Pataky, and more!

An opening-day event, Shaping Light: A Hand-Dipped Candlemaking, will take place Saturday, September 19, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Museum visitors and shoppers are invited to hand dip their own pair of taper candles at this drop-in event. The first-come, first-served activity is free with a $25+ purchase from Asher: Off the Wall (or a $25 fee), while supplies last.
