Build dynamic fiber art that will make anyone want to reach out and touch it.
Smooth art is great for computers, but let’s add some texture to your craft. Taught by Jamie Maloney of Fault Lines Fiber Art, this workshop will show crafters, artists and creatives how to create texture through embroidery.
What you’ll learn:
First, you’ll learn how to use a few simple techniques with already textured materials for creating a visual and tactile experience. This includes couching fuzzy yarns and ribbons, handling delicate shiny threads and, of course, using beads.
Then, you’ll learn four essential stitches for building highly dimensional embroidery using your everyday embroidery floss, including French knots, woven picot, Turkey stitch and buttonhole bars.
