Founded in 1973 in Ann Arbor, the Guild of Artists & Artisans (The Guild) is a dynamic nonprofit membership association dedicated to championing independent artists and strengthening the visual arts community. For more than five decades, The Guild has been a driving force behind cultivating public appreciation for the arts while building a powerful support network for artists. Through educational programming, professional mentoring, and strategic marketing opportunities, The Guild equips creatives not just to survive, but to thrive.

The Guild brings its mission to life by producing eight fine art fairs each year—vibrant, highly regarded events (including the Ann Arbor Summer Art Fair) that connect artists directly with thousands of patrons while enriching the cultural fabric of the community. It also manages the Gutman Gallery, nurtures rising talent through its Emerging Artist Program, and presents an annual Artist Conference on The Business of Art, designed to empower artists with the tools and insights needed to build sustainable, successful careers.
