As part of the ACC Biennial Awards, one or more Fellows are recognized as Gold Medalists. Representing an award for a lifetime of achievement, the Gold Medal is the highest award given by ACC. Gold Medal awardees represent the extraordinary among a field of elite craftspeople. Awardees are nominated by the College of Fellows and selected by the ACC Awards Committee.

Consuelo Jimenez Underwood
Born in 1949 in Sacramento, California, Consuelo Jimenez Underwood is a fiber artist known for her large wall installations and woven works. As a child, Jimenez Underwood worked alongside her parents as a migrant farm laborer. Her father, who was undocumented for many years, was deported several times throughout her childhood. Sonya Clark
Born in Washington, DC to Caribbean parents, Sonya Clark is the Winifred Arms Professor of Arts at Amherst College in Massachusetts..
