The 2026 Artist Open Studios Tour invites the public into the working studios of Maryland’s visual artists and craft makers for a free, self-guided weekend experience spanning multiple counties across the state. Visitors are welcomed directly into the creative spaces where art and craft take shape, meeting the minds and souls behind the work in an intimate, unhurried setting. The tour celebrates the full spectrum of craft and visual art, including painting, sculpture, photography, fiber, ceramics, mixed media, and everything in between. Each studio visit is an opportunity to witness art in its most authentic form: seeing raw materials transformed by skilled hands, hearing the stories behind each piece, and connecting with artists whose work is deeply rooted in their communities and cultures. Participating galleries and museums add even more depth to the experience, offering additional context and discovery along the way.
