Karen Hampton: Say A Little Prayer

Hampton calls her practice “the synthesis of memory, history, time and cloth.” On offer in this show is a selection of the Black artist’s subtly tinted, coarsely woven works, which carry implied or overt messages of liberation. The pieces, she writes, “are built on prayers for the world, humanity, and my survival—for the hopeful, peaceful, egalitarian future I am dreaming of.”
