About this opportunity

Dive into the inspiring and emotive traditional arpillera circle led by artist and researcher Diego Borgsdorf Fuenzalida
Using materials tied to Blue Light Junction and techniques that are traditional to Chilean fiber traditions, each participant will create a small arpillera that documents and honors their testimony.
Together, we will reflect on the images of political violence we live with.
The workshop will highlight how arpilleras are both a formal art object, laden with innovative and endemic fiber techniques, and a method to identify and self-document political realities using fiber.
