Amanda Peterson is the creator behind Malachite, a line of modern minimalist handbags and accessories. Silhouettes are influenced by art deco shapes like fans, diamonds and circles, and design details like crescent ring keepers and hand stitched embellishments add points of interest. Each piece of leather is individually hand cut from full grain leather. Raw edges are carefully hand finished by burnishing or painting. Pieces are then stitched, using a combination of industrial machines for seaming, and hand stitching for applying embellishments and details. Solid brass hardware is used on all pieces. The resulting collection posesses a clean but bold aesthetic.
