Distinctive, simple, wearable shapes featuring shibori-dyed patterning are the focus of my work. I make each piece from beginning to end—integrating fabric types and dying patterns, minimizing fabric waste, and using eco-friendly dyes. I began sewing in grade school and in 1991 earned a BFA in Fiber Art from the University of Washington but am primarily self-taught in shibori, garment design and construction. Creating and selling shibori textiles has been my livelihood for 25 years.
