Ani Kasten is an artist, ceramist, and sculptor navigating the relationship between the man-made and natural worlds. Her work explores the organic cycle of life, death, and decay that lends itself naturally to investigations of time and memory. Kasten’s forms – infused with a balance of beauty, loss, and grief – almost appear as modern day archaeological discoveries. A recent Minnesota transplant, Kasten has visited diverse studios in many different countries on her journey as a ceramist and picked up experiences that have influenced her work and her decision to move to the North.
