The first class is called Fragment Fabric Collage. This class is for anyone who loves fabric, collage, or color. Using a variety of fabric scraps (your own or the class stash), you will combine color, texture, motif, and scale to create mood, memories, and magic. Learn the secrets of how to make even the ugliest fabric sing. You’ll gather even more ideas and inspiration from the oodles of samples Lesley brings. All fragments will be temporarily fused in class in preparation for optional machine or hand-stitching (to your heart’s desire) at home.
The second class is called Fragment Fabric Book. This class is a no-sew, fabric-based exploration of fabric, image, and text as it applies to book page design and bookmaking. Explore transferring image and text onto fabric with Transfer Artist Paper (TAP). Using your newly created fabric text and images, you will build a series of small collages from fabric and paper fragments, combining texture, text, and textiles. Bring any fabric scraps you may want to use or share. By the end of class, your fragments will be combined into an easy-to-create book structure, a sensuous, one-of-a-kind, a hand-crafted compendium of color, image, texture, and text.
