Amara Hark-Weber, ACC’s 2017 Rare Craft Fellowship Award recipient, is one of a small handful of traditionally trained custom shoemakers in the United States. She’ll delve into the world of contemporary shoemaking, exploring what is happening in the trade today and where it may be going in the future. Hark-Weber will also shed light on what it means to be a shoemaker and share the fundamentals of how a custom shoe is made.
