Within the realm of contemporary art, weaving is having a moment. Several exhibitions, currently running, place textile arts and weaving firmly in the realm of fine art.
Remembering the “Craft-Ins”

In July 1971, the South Central Regional Assembly of the American Craft Council held the first of several back-to-the-land gatherings in Colorado. It was designated a “Craft-In.” The first Craft-In, held in Steamboat Springs, was open to all craftspeople and their families, with volunteers from among the 400 attendees leading the activity sessions.
Wild at Heart

For this issue, the Crafty Librarian dove into the nearly 4,000 artist files in the ACC Library & Archives and discovered that these two artists in particular spent their careers developing and showing their wild sides.
