2016 San Francisco Show Awards of Excellence
Our annual American Craft Show in San Francisco last weekend showcased more than 230 artists, and six of them were honored with Awards of Excellence.
The jurors described jeweler Biba Schutz's work as “so Biba,” praising her unique ability to innovate while maintaining her own personal style.
Woodworker Koji Tanaka's graceful and elegant sculptures belie the skill required to make them.
Fiber artist and weaver Muffy Young was cited by the jurors for her incredible skill and her beautiful color and pattern choices, which make her wearables so wearable.
The ACC Award of Excellence in booth design was given to Lauri Chambers. Her clean and simple booth showcased her lovely, playful hats to perfection.
Hip Pop emerging artists Autumn Higgins and Younha Jung also received Awards of Excellence. Higgins’ ceramic work beguiled the jurors with its whimsical illustrations and blend of function and art.
Jung creates bold jewelry reminiscent of urban environments by using found objects and construction-esque designs.
Congratulations to all of the award recipients in San Francisco!
