The White House has officially proposed to terminate the National Endowment for the Arts, the National Endowment for the Humanities, and other cultural organizations from the national budget for fiscal year 2018.

History has shown the arts to be a sign of health and happiness within a time and place. In our current political climate the arts are at risk of being undervalued – or eliminated completely – despite their positive impact. The NEA touches all corners of our country and benefits lives from all walks of life. Economically, it supports 4.8 million jobs and generates more than $600 million annually. The Washington Post shares more about what this loss would mean.

It’s important now, more than ever, to recognize how important the arts are to us. We know that the arts are important to you, so let your voice be heard. Be a part of the grassroots effort on social media using #SAVEtheNEA and contribute, if you’re able, to the Arts Action Fund PAC.

Your voice will make a difference. Act today and join us to save the funding for the NEA.
