Video: Food and Traditions with Sean Sherman and Amy Thielen
Sean Sherman is a member of the Oglala Sioux Tribe and grew up on the Pine Ridge Reservation. He is exploring indigenous food systems through his company, The Sioux Chef. Amy Thielen is a two-time James Beard Award-winning food writer who grew up in northern Minnesota. After cutting her teeth in some of New York's most successful restaurants, she returned to the Midwest to write about food and the rural Minnesota lifestyle.
The two stopped by the American Craft Council Library last week as part of our Library Salon Series. In a new video, hear them talk about their perspectives on food, tradition, and how it all ties into where we come from.
Presented by the American Craft Council, the Library Salon Series is a series of free public presentations exploring craft, making, and art..
This activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a Minnesota State Arts Board Operating Support grant, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund.
