Fourth Time’s the Charm
This year the american Craft Council launched its first-ever American Craft™ Charm Collection at the ACC shows. In August in San Francisco, our fourth group of jewelry artists will present their collections. You can browse a digital edition of the San Francisco catalogue. After the show, we’ll post a digital directory of the complete charm artist roster from this show season.
Made in Marfa
If Libby Lane’s accessories have you searching for more leather, check out this Q&A with Cobra Rock Boot Company, based in Marfa, Texas. Co-owners Logan Caldbeck and Colt Miller make gorgeous small-batch leather boots by hand at their shop/storefront. Their boots are so popular that they currently have a wait list. Take a look now; if you want some, you can get your name in before the line gets even longer.
Fashion Faves
This issue is loaded with handmade wearables, and we know you’ve got your own favorites. We polled ACC staff about their favorite handmade accessories. See what folks had to say, and be sure to share your thoughts.
Match Makers
Elsewhere in this issue you’ll read about Manufacture New York, which seeks to connect designers with production resources to bring the work of emerging talent to the public. In a similar spirit, Maker’s Row, an online hub, connects makers with factories and suppliers in the United States that can help in all stages of the process – from ideas and sample-making to materials and production.
Coin of the Realm
If you’re a fan of Lauren Vanessa Tickle’s jewelry made from cash, check out our roundup of other artists who make amazing objects out of money, such as Rachel Denny’s penny-covered horse head, Stacey Lee Webber’s tools made of coins, and more.
