Paper is a staple that has been utilized by humans for centuries. It is a social and economic tool for preserving the past, recording the present and looking into the future. Pulp + Process will display a variety of paper-made works ranging from stunning cut paper to charming miniatures. Viewers are invited to discover how the craft of making paper by hand is being carried on by artists today, and to see how makers are using the medium to produce a massive variety of forms.

Pulp + Process also marks the debut of the first exhibition to come out of the Society's Emerging Curator Program. This program allows young-in-career curators to propose an exhibition and work alongside gallery staff to produce the exhibition at the Society. Through this program, young curators will immerse themselves in the curatorial process and learn about all aspects of presenting a gallery exhibition through mentorship with Society staff and stakeholders.

2019 Emerging Curator Sam Aldrich is a recent graduate from the Massachusetts College of Art and Design where he received a BFA in Fibers. Sam is currently the Exhibition Associate at the Society of Arts + Crafts.
