"Joanne Kirkland and Nick Wroblewski: New Works"
Madison-based ceramic artist Joanne Kirkland creates wheel-thrown functional and altered sculptural forms. Nick Wroblewski is known for his woodblock prints of the Midwest landscape. His latest body of work is a series of book illustrations from "Hush Hush, Forest," his latest collaborative project with author Mary Casanova.
"Group Show: Nocturne"
As we emerge from the darkest days of the year, we reflect on the beauty and serenity of night. Artists in a variety of media create works based on this time of day. Artists include Richard Jones, Don Kauss, Charlie Olson, Kelli Hoppmann, Karen Halt, John S. Miller, Jonathan Wilde, Evan Hawkins, Barry Roal Carlsen.
"Productive Bodies"
University of Wisconsin-Madison student Chelsea Thompto transforms the Cooler Gallery into a manipulated Mississippi River. This multimedia installation of procedurally generated archival footage draws comparisons and finds parallels between the Mississippi river and the trans* body, seeing both as heavily influenced by human intervention
