"Present Tense" Conference: ACC Library Lab and Reading List
We’re taking the ACC Library and Archives on the road to Omaha this October for "Present Tense," the ACC’s 12th national conference. We’ll be hosting several activities on-site at Kaneko, where conference-goers will be invited to engage with our experiential Library Lab in a number of ways.
Read
Relax in our reading lounge featuring more than100 new, forthcoming, and notable books and catalogues by conference presenters, ACC artists, and award recipients, as well as leading curators and scholars in the field.
Listen
Artists and scholars who have recently had works published with Schiffer Publishing will share brief talks on subjects related to their books and research and the conference themes.
Learn
Take a seat at our digital resource station equipped with computers and video screens. We’ll be demoing our ACC Library Digital Collections database, as well as screening slideshows and videos of materials from the ACC archives.
Explore
Check out displays of one-of-a-kind objects from the ACC Archives, including past documentation of ACC conferences, exhibitions, and awards programs, as well as materials from the pioneering artists who contributed to the development of the contemporary craft field.
Make
Get creative at our Let’s Make activity station. Sit down, relax, and try your hand at embroidery inspired by vintage imagery from our archives.
In addition to all these opportunities to engage with the latest scholarship and one-of-a-kind ephemera, our generous Library Lab sponsor, Schiffer Publishing, will be on-site to offer the latest craft books and catalogues from their collection for purchase.

We hope to see friends of the ACC Library & Archives - old and new - in Omaha come October, and thanks again to Schiffer Publishing for making the Library Lab possible.
