This exhibition is part of the ongoing “conversation” series pairing two artists. Through discovery of intersections between seemingly disparate materials or approaches, fresh perspectives emerge and the two bodies of work begin to form a dialogue that is often unexpected, compelling, and powerful.

Artist Eleanor Annand is working primarily with cardboard, chosen for its ephemeral qualities as well as recycled and cast cotton paper to create sculptural work that plays with rhythm, disruption, light and shadow. The artists known as “Make Noise” design and build modular synthesizers. The exhibition will allow visitors to experience unique synthesizer performances created with Make Noise instruments. Along with sound works chosen specifically to enhance Annand’s paper installations, the exhibition will impact the way we understand and imagine the role of sound and its relationship to visual art.
