Artist and educator Joseph Pintz works with a rich terra cotta colored earthenware clay, hand-building minimalist functional forms meant for use. In contrast to his muted pastel color palette, the surfaces are weathered and the textured clay body is solid and weighty. The resulting work is intuitive and personal – soft with implied history and contact with human hands.
