Video Preview: ACC Library Salon Series Featuring Wence and Sandra Martinez
For our final Library Salon Series event this spring, we are thrilled to welcome weaving-and-painting duo Wence and Sandra Martinez. Wence and Sandra will be joining us on June 14 in our library to talk about their ongoing, artistic collaboration for 30 years and how they've made it as full-time working artists. As longtime residents and business owners in art-centric Door County, Wisconsin, Wence and Sandra have some knowledge to share about what emerging artists can do to succeed in the field.
They were also selected as finalists for our 2017 Rare Craft Fellowship Award, and we were able to catch up with them during the celebration in New York City to ask them about their work together and how people relate to their one-of-a-kind collaborations. Watch the video above, and join us June 14 for more.
Presented by the American Craft Council, the Library Salon Series is a series of free public presentations exploring craft, making, and art.
This activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a Minnesota State Arts Board Operating Support grant, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund.
