Top Honors
This fall we’re set to celebrate the 2014 American Craft Council Awards, which include our biennial induction of artists into the College of Fellows. For the last few months, magazine and education staff have been traveling around the country for in-depth conversations with each of the honorees at their homes and studios.

Read their profiles, then view exclusive videos, slideshows of more images, a special series of “Reflections” – thoughts from the award winners culled from our interviews – and archival highlights related to the winners in our weekly Throwback Thursday series.

From now until November 15, we’ll be focusing on one or more of the winners each week on the website as we count down to the awards ceremony in New York City at the Museum of Arts and Design.

Kudos for the Kohler
In this issue, contributing editor Joyce Lovelace speaks with Ruth DeYoung Kohler, who created the Arts/Industry program at the John Michael Kohler Arts Center in Sheboygan, Wisconsin. Now celebrating its 40th year, the residency program, which connects studio and trade craft, has touched hundreds of artists. ACC education coordinator Rachel Kirchgasler caught up with program participants to learn more about what the experience has meant to them, and is posting their stories online.

Words From the Wise
For this issue’s Voices, we asked five members of the College of Fellows for advice they would give their younger selves. If you’d like to share your own answer, we’d love to hear it. Tweet us at @americancraft using the hashtag #voicespoll or send it to [email protected]. We’ll include a few of our favorites in the Letters section of our next issue.

Get Your Fiber Arts Fill
Our master class this issue is with fiber artist Gerhardt Knodel. If you’re wowed by Knodel’s work, view an exclusive gallery of new work and extended interview insights that he shared with ACC librarian Jessica Shaykett.
